Musings on Love

Let’s talk about love. Because why not, right? Late night chat sessions always make me introspective. Don’t know why… But last night, talking art and life with a friend, I thought up this allegory that’s still messing with my brain today. It was about two people so totally in love nothing could keep them apart. But they were so totally different, they were doomed to hurt each other over and over again: one too cerebral to be emotionally affectionate, the other too emotional to see reason and logic. So, for the sake of their partner, independently of each other, they went out to change themselves, to get rid of the things that were keeping them apart. The one excised her brain, the other his heart. Both died as a willing sacrifice to love. So, in the interest of assuaging my inner deepthinker, I’m gonna break down this thing called L […]

Farewell to The Blood Series

Dear friends, followers, and readers, The last few years have been an amazing ride for me. My writerly journey has taken me to some beautiful places, and it all started with Liquid Silver Books taking me, a complete newbie, under its wing, and making my dreams of being a published author come true. Now, after a happy 5-year association, for which LSB will always have my undying thanks, I have had to make the decision every writer comes to eventually: to do what is best for me and my books. I love LSB dearly, and always will. They have been nothing but supportive of my efforts to bring my books to readers everywhere. However, having spent the last three years experimenting with self-publishing, it has become clear to me that this is the path I want to take. And so, with my heart full of gratitude, I announce my departure from Liquid […]

#IndieBooksBeSeen

Today (I am told) is a day for Indie authors to show their pride and their self-published books. The hashtag is trending all over, and social media is getting flooded with photos of authors and their books. I like it! So I’m joining in to celebrate having a full-time creative side job which takes up every waking moment I’m not at my 9-5, gives me heart palpitations, and on occasion makes me emotionally unstable. Because I love every last second of it, and wouldn’t trade it for the world. Find my books in the sidebar on the right (or below this post, if you’re on a mobile device). To support Indie authors, give their books a try. They’re just as good as traditionally published ones, and many times cheaper as well. And if I could ask a favor, leave a review of the books you do read. It might seem […]

Extra! Extra! Read All About It!

Well, I did it. I wasn’t sure it was worth it, but blog subscriptions, while nice, don’t really cut it when it comes to a presentable format in Inboxes. So I fell on a band wagon and created a Newsletter. If anyone’s interested in signing up, click this link right here, and sign over your email address and half your soul. Just kidding. Here’s what the Newsletter will be used for: Big news announcements (and there are some Really Big News coming up) Exclusive sales and discounts on my books Upcoming release announcements (Rarely, and I mean unicorn sightings rare) Events, signings, and appearances That’s it. Nothing else. No big lengthy prose like I post here, or anything like that. Just straight forward news. The benefit to you is that you’ll be the first to know of any happenings, before they’re announced here or on social media, and every once […]

There MUST Be Blood!!

Anyone else get paranoid when they’re editing (or self-editing) a manuscript and there are almost no corrections on a page? I am working my way through Blood Hunt, going on 16 chapters now, and so far all I’ve been fixing are contractions and a word choice here or there. I won’t lie, it had me worried until I remembered I’d already done a hard edit of this part when I hit the halfway point. Still, it somehow doesn’t seem right to leave a page without red ink.
