Update Phase 2: Blood and Shadows

As an update on my update process, I now have a print-proof from IngramSpark en route to me. I began with Wolfen, because it’s the longest and potentially the most problematic. I figure, if I can perfect that one, the rest of my print editions should be a breeze! =) Once I check that the layout is good, the font is readable, and the cover prints the way it’s supposed to, I will be (re)formatting all my other print editions for IngramSpark. The life of an Indie author…

Oh, who am I kidding? I live for this stuff! Seriously, the hardest thing about the entire process (for me, anyway) is the wait I have to endure before I can move on to the next step. So, having redone the Dawn of Ragnarok covers, and while I’m waiting for Wolfen to arrive on my doorstep, I’ve been keeping busy redesigning the Blood and Shadows series covers. Again, there is a valid, technical reason for me doing this. Because of the darkness and the contrast, the old covers didn’t print correctly, and I had to fix that, which resulted in covers that look faded on the screen and almost too dark in print. And, as much as I love the dramatic look of them, the corona lighting elements were more in line with alien themes than what my books are actually about.

And that is why I absolutely love this new design. It’s light and dark, mirroring the battles in the books, as well as the larger series arc, and it incorporates an element of the biggest theme in the books: DNA and its manipulation. These covers convey the story much better than their previous incarnations, and I’m practically salivating to see them in print, because they will look out of this world gorgeous!

Don’t believe me? See for yourself:

Book News

An update on what’s going on in the book world of moi:

Virtual is now FREE wherever eBooks are sold. If you haven’t read it yet, this is a quirky little novella with elements of contemporary romance, sci-fi, and thriller. You’ll laugh, you’ll gasp, you’ll never look at your toaster the same way again. Go on, give it a try! You can even leave a review if you’re feeling adventurous. 😉

The Blood and Shadows series is also on sale. The first three books are priced at $0.99, $1.99, and $2.99 respectively. This one is all sci-fi, shape shifters,  and mind readers, falling in love, having hot sex, and trying to save the world. Okay, that last is a bit of a stretch, but you get what I mean.

Next up in The Rebel Court series is Dearest Love, which just got sent off to my lovely editor. I am in love with this one! Beau and Lily have history together, and their chemistry is just amazing. If you signed up for this erotic romance series mailing list, you’ll automatically be getting Dearest Love, starting August 1, 2017. One chapter per day, as promised.

If you haven’t signed up yet, do it now, because once the first chapter goes out, all other sign ups will have to wait until the next book in the series to get in on the action. As with Catch Me, the novella will become available for purchase as a complete eBook after the last chapter is sent, so if you don’t want to parcel it out, feel free to wait. But I gotta tell you, there are perks to being on that mailing list. *hint hint*

And last but not least, look for a new Here There Be Monsters short story in the next few days. If you missed the previous ones, there’s a handy list of links in the sidebar for your reference. Sometimes the summers get pretty hot, so I figure why not cool off with some macabre/horror chills? 😉

Until next time!

Reinventing The Wheel

It is a truth universally acknowledged that the moment you root your feet, you get struck by a speeding bus. Okay, maybe that’s a little harsher than I intended, but the sentiment is sound. The only constant in this universe is change, and that holds true for everything in life: relationships, business, art, culture, language, and everything in between. We come to expect it, get bored when nothing happens for a while. But we tend to develop a serious blind spot when it comes to ourselves.

Blood Hunt Release Date

Good morning and happy Friday!

A quick announcement for your pre-weekend today. Last Sunday, I sent out a Newsletter with a full chapter of Blood Hunt and its official release date.  That chapter won’t be reposted anywhere else. Sorry if anyone missed it. I did promise that my Newsletters would be worth it for those who signed up. If you’re not on the mailing list yet, you can add yourself here. The good news is, I will be posting the release date for Blood Hunt. But before I get to that, some news to share:

Blood Moons is doing wonderfully its first week. Both the digital and print versions are now available across the board at online retailers around the world, and it has found a home with readers in Canada, Australia, Great Britain, and even Germany! I happen to think that’s pretty awesome. 😀

The next release, Blood Trails, is already available for pre-order in digital format, with print editions going live on or shortly after its release day on October 10, 2015. You can find the links on the book’s page.

Blood Debts is also available for pre-order, and will be releasing on October 24, 2015. For some reason, the print cover was giving me grief with this one, but it’s now just the way I want it (I had to go double check just now to make sure of that). So no snags or delays there.

HuntThumbAnd finally, the big news. For those who missed it, the 4th installment in Blood and Shadows will be releasing earlier than I had hoped, thanks to the amazing efforts of my brilliant editor, who got the content and line edits completed in record time! I am therefore able to keep to the current 2-week release increments, and Blood Hunt will make its official debut on November 7, 2015! Break out the champagne and mark your calendars, folks, this one’s going to be epic! Check the quote at the top of this post if ya don’t believe me. Yep, it’s gonna be big. I can’t wait!

You know it’s good when your editor sends you emails about what she’s reading, and makes awesome comments in the margins like, “LOL This cracked me up!” And yes, I do break into an awkwardly embarrassing happy dance every time I see one of those. It’s a writer thing…

That’s all from me for the moment. 🙂 I return you now to enjoy your Friday and the weekend.

Until next time!

A New Age Dawns

The Blood Series eBooks are now gone for all time. If, by chance, some stores still carry them, they won’t be for long. In their place, the new versions will start popping up for pre-sale, with shiny new covers and price tags, and book 1 is already there for pre-order! Note the specially reduced price on this gorgeous baby: $0.99 on the US side!

Pre-order your copy now at the following retailers:

Amazon.com | Amazon.co.uk | Amazon.ca | Amazon.com.au
Barnes & Noble
All Romance EBooks

More to come as they appear where they are supposed to be. You’ll always find the most popular links on the book’s main page.

What’s changed?

Mostly, all that has changed is the look. I have updated the cover, fixed the formatting so there are now distinguishable chapter breaks, scene division, etc. Residual typos and errors have been corrected as well. In terms of content, the story is still the same. I have added maybe one paragraph’s worth of new content to one scene. It doesn’t affect the plot in this book whatsoever, but it does have bearing on book 4: Blood Hunt, which is on schedule to release November or December of this year. The print version of Blood Moons will go on sale on, or shortly after the release date, and autographed copies will be available in my store.

Blood Trails and Blood Debts will re-release on October 10 and October 24 respectively. Much like book 1, the only difference is one or two paragraphs’ worth of new content which doesn’t affect the immediate plot and only serves to create a subtle tie-in to book 4.

Meanwhile, Dragonborn, the sequel to The Royal Wizard is still under construction and on schedule to release in 2016. So much is happening in and around this series that I had to get a dry-erase board to jot down some series notes for continuity. I’ll let you know how that works out. LOL But the biggest news is that it now has an official blurb! And if you’re a writer, you know how big of a deal this is.

That’s all from my end for the moment. =) More updates to come as they develop.

Until next time!
