Book Signings Pre-Order Form Live

A quick check-in to announce that the pre-order form for my two book signings this year is now live! 🙂 Since I’ll be sharing a table at both events, I’ll be limited for space and won’t be able to stock all of my 12 print titles for the events. I have chosen a few (including Helena) that I’ll definitely have in stock. The rest are available for pre-order, and I’ll only bring as many of those as get ordered. 🙂 If you’re attending one of the events, use this form to pre-order the books you would like to get signed: http://bit.ly/ADPreOrder2019.

I am currently hard at work on Prince of Deceit, which is now at about 80,000 words in length. To give you a basis for comparison, The Royal Wizard came in at 103,000 words, and Dragonblood at 120,000. I anticipate this one will be somewhere between those two, so I’m getting close to the finish line! There is a possibility I may finish it in time to have copies available at one or both of the signings as well but, since the timing depends in large part on edits, I can’t make any promises on that score. I would rather take a little extra time to make sure it’s done right than rush it to have something on the table. I will share updates as things progress a little more.

Until next time!

Yes, it really is my birthday today, and yes I really do have a gift for you. 🙂

For one day only, ALL of my books are FREE at Smashwords! Each book has a unique coupon code associated with it, which you’ll see when you click on the book’s page. You’ll need to enter that code at check-out to redeem. This promotion is not available at other retailers, but it’s also not limited to quantity while it’s running, so feel free to share with all your friends!

Here’s the link to my Author Profile where you can find all of my books at once. Or, to make it easier, here are the individual books:

Dragonblood (high fantasy romance)

  1. The Royal Wizard
  2. Dragonblood

The Beast (dark-ish fantasy, Beauty and The Beast)

  1. Bastien
  2. The Beast
  3. The Beast Series (includes both novellas in one)

Blood and Shadows (sci-fi futuristic paranormal romance)

  1. Blood Moons
  2. Blood Trails
  3. Blood Debts
  4. Blood Hunt

The Rebel Court (fantasy erotic romance, Snow White)

  1. Catch Me

Stand-Alone (various genres)

Thank You Rebel Followers!

Dear friends,

Hello again! I have returned from my exotic Hawaii vacation refreshed, rejuvenated, and raring to go right back again. Seriously, my Zen took a huge hit upon reentering the big city. Apparently, I am still a small town girl at heart. Oh well… one day.

CatchMeBooksI wanted to write a quick note to thank my Rebel Court followers out loud for signing up for Catch Me. Your response has touched my heart, and I’m saving each and every one of them (which is  usually pretty creepy, but I’m a writer so I get a pass 😉 ). Your packages are all ready to go out in the mail tomorrow, so you should be getting them soon. 🙂

If you liked it, I hope you will tell your friends. I’m still doing this similar deal for the next book in the series, Dearest Love, except that one will be sent out daily. Sign up will be open all the way up until the first chapter goes out (date TBD) so if you know of anyone who enjoys erotic romance and Snow White, send them here to sign up.

If you haven’t read it or missed the sign up deadline, the complete novella is now available for pre-order everywhere. Check out the first 20% at the Smashwords link. The official release date is October 8, so coming up soon!

DearestLoveI’ve hit a bit of a writing slump, so progress is slow, but I am working on both Dearest Love and Prince of Deceit. The first one is tricky. These characters have history and they’re very eager to discuss it. At length. I’ve scrapped 3 chapters and started over again to make it more comprehensible, but getting them into bed together is proving to be a challenge. The thing is, the complications that make this difficult are actually what make it awesomely fun. I get to retell the story of Snow White in bits and pieces through the memories of her allies. Hopefully, by the time it’s all said and done, it will all make cohesive sense.

DBSmallThe second one is tricky for a whole other reason. I have too many focal points in the story, pulling me in too many directions. I need to figure out how to consolidate it without losing the richness of all that is happening in Wilderheim. Prince Fal has something of an apocalypse on his hands… I can’t say more because it would spoil Dragonblood, so if you haven’t read that one yet, please do! 😉 But I can say that Loki is back, and stirring up trouble wherever he goes. Religions will clash in a big way and the war will be terrible. I hope. Or, err… you know what I mean. Should be fun!

Anyway, I now return you all to your weekend enjoyment. 🙂

Until next time!

Writer’s Gonna Read: Recently Read…

This will be my attempt to keep myself accountable for what I (don’t) read. It’s become an unsettling pattern for me lately to think, “I really miss reading! I never have time anymore!” but not pick up a book when I do have time. So I will try to post here about the books I read. Not reviews, just a mention, and possibly a recommendation, if I feel very strongly about a particular title.

I will start this new series of posts off by recounting 2015 in books read so far, not counting my own books, which I read to edit. Sadly, it is a very short list…

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

  1. The Wolf’s Hour by Romert R. McCammon
  2. Legend by David Gemmel
  3. Nightfall by Ellen Connor (cheating a little, this was a re-read)
  4. Midnight by Ellen Connor (re-read)
  5. The Last Wish by Andrzej Sapkowski
  6. Sword of Destiny by Andrzej Sapkowski
  7. Blood of Elves by Andrzej Sapkowski
  8. The Time of Contempt by Andrzej Sapkowski
  9. Baptism of Fire by Andrzej Sapkowski
  10. The Tower of Swallows by Andrzej Sapkowski
  11. The Lady of the Lake by Andrzej Sapkowski
  12. Junior Inquisitor by Lincoln Farish (Awesome Indie book! Dark urban fantasy)
  13. Quiet by Susan Cain

Of these, the last 6 I have read in the last four months. Meaning, I only read two new books in the beginning half of 2015. I am not happy about this, to say the least. To make matters worse, my current TBR pile is so huge, I don’t even know where to start. I am definitely not lacking for choices, only the desire to read. As a writer, reading is how a recharge my mental batteries, so you’d think I’d be reading day and night, right? Maybe I need to start…

What are you reading these days?

#IndieBooksBeSeen

Today (I am told) is a day for Indie authors to show their pride and their self-published books. The hashtag is trending all over, and social media is getting flooded with photos of authors and their books. I like it! So I’m joining in to celebrate having a full-time creative side job which takes up every waking moment I’m not at my 9-5, gives me heart palpitations, and on occasion makes me emotionally unstable. Because I love every last second of it, and wouldn’t trade it for the world. Find my books in the sidebar on the right (or below this post, if you’re on a mobile device).

To support Indie authors, give their books a try. They’re just as good as traditionally published ones, and many times cheaper as well. And if I could ask a favor, leave a review of the books you do read. It might seem like a small thing, but it makes a world of difference to us. Thank you for reading Indie books!
