A Birthday Gift From Me To You

Yes, it really is my birthday today, and yes I really do have a gift for you. 🙂 For one day only, ALL of my books are FREE at Smashwords! Each book has a unique coupon code associated with it, which you’ll see when you click on the book’s page. You’ll need to enter that code at check-out to redeem. This promotion is not available at other retailers, but it’s also not limited to quantity while it’s running, so feel free to share with all your friends! Here’s the link to my Author Profile where you can find all of my books at once. Thank You Rebel Followers!

Dear friends, Hello again! I have returned from my exotic Hawaii vacation refreshed, rejuvenated, and raring to go right back again. Seriously, my Zen took a huge hit upon reentering the big city. Apparently, I am still a small town girl at heart. Oh well… one day. I wanted to write a quick note to thank my Rebel Court followers out loud for signing up for Catch Me. Your response has touched my heart, and I’m saving each and every one of them (which is  usually pretty creepy, but I’m a writer so I get a pass 😉 ). Your packages are all ready to go out in the mail tomorrow, so you should be getting them soon. 🙂 If… Read More »Thank You Rebel Followers!

Writer’s Gonna Read: Recently Read…

This will be my attempt to keep myself accountable for what I (don’t) read. It’s become an unsettling pattern for me lately to think, “I really miss reading! I never have time anymore!” but not pick up a book when I do have time. So I will try to post here about the books I read. Not reviews, just a mention, and possibly a recommendation, if I feel very strongly about a particular title. I will start this new series of posts off by recounting 2015 in books read so far, not counting my own books, which I read to edit. Sadly, it is a very short list… The Wolf’s Hour by Romert R. McCammon Legend by David Gemmel Nightfall by… Read More »Writer’s Gonna Read: Recently Read…

#IndieBooksBeSeen

Today (I am told) is a day for Indie authors to show their pride and their self-published books. The hashtag is trending all over, and social media is getting flooded with photos of authors and their books. I like it! So I’m joining in to celebrate having a full-time creative side job which takes up every waking moment I’m not at my 9-5, gives me heart palpitations, and on occasion makes me emotionally unstable. Because I love every last second of it, and wouldn’t trade it for the world. Find my books in the sidebar on the right (or below this post, if you’re on a mobile device). To support Indie authors, give their books a try. They’re just as… Read More »#IndieBooksBeSeen

A Little Dream for the Future

Writers always like to say, “One day…” and imagine what life will be like when they finally hit it big and become world famous for their writing. I will admit I have given this some thought, and my version goes something like this: One day… I will make my first million, and I will invest in something that will guarantee me income for the rest of my life, no matter what. Because fame and riches never last, especially when they’re interconnected. I will retire from my day job (that will be topmost on my list after securing other income) and move to a cute little house in a cute little town where nobody goes around punching people’s lights out for… Read More »A Little Dream for the Future

Author-y Stuff

Happy Friday to all! I write to you today for a couple of reasons. The first is to give you an update on Wolfen. Which is that I am about ten chapters away from finishing my first self-edit. And that means after a final read-through to smooth rough edges (hopefully next week), the manuscript will be ready to be sent to my editor! I know it’s stretching long, but I take edits very seriously, as evidenced by a sea of red notes over my manuscript and the wide-eyed look of confused panic people give me when they see it. It’ll get there, I promise 🙂 And it’ll be worth the wait. The second is to continue my quest to help indie… Read More »Author-y Stuff

A Valentine’s Day Treat

I’ve been a recluse today, busily plugging holes. Plot holes, that is. But I am given to understand today is a special day, and deserves a special celebration, and so I give you all this gift, a very naughty scene from Bastien. Warning in advance: This content is very, very adult.

12 Days of Christmas Excerpts Contest Day 12

“Both of you tell me you are not one and the same, and yet you remember everything. You know each other’s minds. You know what the other is planning and you let it happen.” The words come in a rush and with them a terrible realization. “You let it happen.” Angry tears sting my eyes. I’ve given everything to this being; left myself at his mercy time and again. I’ve borne _____’s torments, as I’ve shouldered _____’s, hoping that my pleasance would better them in return. And for all his now gentle words, I find that the fearsome, powerful _____ is a coward. Possible points: 8 Complete contest rules here.
