Finding my Voice in 2019

PODCAST INTERVIEW

So, I did a thing…

A few days ago I was asked to do an interview and live podcast for Lauretta Kehoe’s Authors Corner. It wasn’t supposed to happen until a week or two down the road but she had a last minute opening in her schedule so, with very short notice, I ended up live on air last evening.

My very first time doing anything like this. Not stressful at all (she says shuddering with residual anxiety). The link above will take you to the written interview. Click here to listen to the recorded podcast where I share some tidbits about my books, Prince of Deceit, and what I have planned next.

AUTHOR READING

As if the one-hour interview wasn’t enough talking for one month…

But “adapt or die” right?

I decided to dip a toe out of my comfort zone and do an actual author reading (not live, for introvert reasons). It’s another first for me so I kept it short and sweet(ish). If you’re into this sort of thing, you can listen to the 7-minute excerpt recording on SoundCloud. I don’t think audiobook narration is in my future. But I may do some more excerpts like this, if there’s interest and if I have the time.

Is there a passage from one of my books you’d like to hear me read? Let me know!

Teaser from Prince of Deceit

I had planned to wait until later to share this, but am apparently incapable of the slightest smidgen of patience. So here is a teaser from my next planned release, Prince of Deceit. 🙂 Enjoy!

(Yes, that is my voice narrating.)

Book Signings Pre-Order Form Live

A quick check-in to announce that the pre-order form for my two book signings this year is now live! 🙂 Since I’ll be sharing a table at both events, I’ll be limited for space and won’t be able to stock all of my 12 print titles for the events. I have chosen a few (including Helena) that I’ll definitely have in stock. The rest are available for pre-order, and I’ll only bring as many of those as get ordered. 🙂 If you’re attending one of the events, use this form to pre-order the books you would like to get signed: http://bit.ly/ADPreOrder2019.

I am currently hard at work on Prince of Deceit, which is now at about 80,000 words in length. To give you a basis for comparison, The Royal Wizard came in at 103,000 words, and Dragonblood at 120,000. I anticipate this one will be somewhere between those two, so I’m getting close to the finish line! There is a possibility I may finish it in time to have copies available at one or both of the signings as well but, since the timing depends in large part on edits, I can’t make any promises on that score. I would rather take a little extra time to make sure it’s done right than rush it to have something on the table. I will share updates as things progress a little more.

Until next time!

Welcome to 2019

A short post before I get back to work. 🙂

Last year didn’t go as planned for me, so this year I’ll be making some changes. The first is that I am officially on hiatus from Facebook. For the foreseeable future, I will only post updates here and send out my Newsletter. And I have a special announcement ready to go out in the next couple of weeks, so if you haven’t yet, sign up for my newsletter here.

The plan for now is to get ready for the book signings later this year and focus on writing. Prince of Deceit is my next planned release. No release date to announce yet, but I am working hard on getting it done. For now, I have added a preview chapter to the book’s page so it doesn’t look so empty over there. 🙂

And now I’m off to my writing den again. Until next time!
