I am so behind on all the announcements and promos for this release it’s not even funny. The timing just happened to overlap with a lot of other life priorities and I ran out of time to set up all of my marketing for release day. I want to say it bothers me but… Eh. The most important part of it for me is the book, and I am over the moon proud of how it all turned out. The story, the cover—everything. I loved these characters in Shadow Hawk, and I love them here.
It occurred to me when I was formatting everything for print that I kind of threw down the gauntlet in the dedication of book 5, and a character in this book picked it up and ran with it. You’ll see who and what I mean when you read it (no spoilers!) but suffice to say this particular character stole the spotlight a bit toward the end, and then basically hijacked my brain, so you will be seeing them again in the next book.
But I’m getting ahead of myself. The purpose of this post is to let the world know that Shadow Hound is slated for release on Monday, December 16th. Slightly short notice, because of the aforementioned scheduling conflicts. I wanted to get this out in time to make it underneath all the Christmas trees. 😉 Preorders are now live at your favorite online bookstore, so go snag a copy for yourself and your loved ones to make their Jólabókaflóðið a little more exciting.
If you’re unsure whether this book is for you, check out the sneak peek preview I put up yesterday. If you’re new to the series, definitely keep reading down below for more info on what you can expect in Blood & Shadows. The best way I can describe it is if you liked Nalini Singh’s Psy-Changeling series, you will enjoy this one. 🙂
Wishing you a joyful and magical Holiday Season and a fantastic New Year. May all your wishes come true. May you win every battle against your enemies. May good luck stick to your heels and all the evil in the world turn the other way.
Until next time—in 2025!

Series Intro
Blood & Shadows is a paranormal romance series that features shape shifters, telepaths, and military heroes and heroines. It is set in the far future but focuses more on the paranormal than the technology, so you won’t get overwhelmed with too many technical details. The series is currently 6 books long, with the 7th and final full-length novel planned out for release in the next year or two, depending on my writing schedule. The books are loosely separated it into two phases:
PHASE 1
These first books set up a universe where people with special abilities exist and conflict is brewing between those who are different, and those who want to control or destroy them. Unethical experiments lead to the creation of the first shape shifters, and introduce the Special Unit as the secret opposition to government control and abuse. These books can all be read as stand-alones with a different couple in each one. There are no cliffhangers but characters from earlier books will show up in the following ones in this phase.
PHASE 2
- Shadow Hawk
- Shadow Hound
- Untitled
Shadow Hawk jumps 3 years out from the end of Blood Hunt. This part of the series centers primarily around the Shadows, and their war against telepaths. You will not see any shape shifters in this set of books, which is why I consider them somewhat separate from the first half of the series. They get quite a bit darker than the first four. This is war, and you will see more violence and difficult situations than in the previous books. These books are stand-alones, with each couple getting their HEA by the end. But the last chapter may be a bit of a cliffhanger, as it sets up the next main character in the series.
If you’re just finding this series and aren’t sure if you want to commit to all 7 books, you don’t have to.
If you’re only interested in shape shifter/telepath romances, you can read the first four books and get a satisfying ending for all the most prominent characters by the end of Blood Hunt.
If you are more into darker, military/war stories, and don’t care for shifters, start with Blood Hunt and work your way through the rest of the series. That will give you enough background so you can dive into the plot, but you won’t miss any back stories for characters who appear in these books.
