Happy Summer! State of the Author Address

Summer never fails to brighten my mood and make me look for all sorts of upbeat, quirky music. Nothing better to put a smile on my face in the morning than an uninteligible tongue twister bridge of a song I’d just happened to discover. Like the one here! I dare you to listen to it and not smile.

These days the sun’s up early, the day is warm, everything is bright and cheery, and even if I have to sit behind a desk all day, there’s just something in the air that tells me it’s summer. I guess I’m an eternal kid inside. I keep waiting for summer break LOL Subconsciously I still feel like it’s a time to take things easy and even if I have a ton of work to get through, I do it with a smile on my face because it really doesn’t seem like that much at all. Psychology is a marvelous thing, isn’t it?

I am happy to report that edits for Blood Debts are going swimmingly and the first round (which is always the most arduous) is finished! *insert me jumping for joy* When it’s all done and finalized I am planning to immerse myself in the next project or two (I’m ADD that way): a tentative fourth installment of The Blood Series, for the moment titled Blood Hunt. Jeremy Calen’s sister, Pixie, is all grown up and taking center stage, getting herself into all sorts of trouble.

The second project is going to be an interesting one. You may have noticed a new category in the sidebar of my blog called Wacky Weres. In it, you will find some very short stories about werewolves. Keep them in mind for the future *hint hint* I have plans for these characters and the stories I post here are just side notes to a larger plot. There will most likely be more of them accumulating here while I work on said larger plot (in which these characters feature in supporting roles). If all goes to plan–fingers crossed–the new book/series will debut 2013 or 2014, depending on my progress with Blood Hunt.

So much to do, so little time! But I wouldn’t have it any other way. =)
